Given the chance that you do a lot of iOS \/ Mac OS \/ WatchOS development some temporary junk can pile up over time &#8211; and given the size of your projects, it can eat away a considerable amount of your precious disk space.<\/p>\n<p>These are the directories that are safe to be removed in terms of Xcode temporary files, but be warned: the\u00a0<strong>Archives<\/strong> folder is suitable for debugging already deployed builds of your software, whereas the\u00a0<strong>MobileSync<\/strong> should be deleted using the appropriate\u00a0<strong>iTunes<\/strong>\u00a0option within the Preferences.\u00a0The author is not responsible for any damage that may be caused by or could be related to the deletion of these files.<\/p>\n<p>With that said, these are the directories:<\/p>\n<p><code>~\/Library\/Developer\/Xcode\/DerivedData<br \/>\n~\/Library\/Developer\/Xcode\/Archives<br \/>\n~\/Library\/Developer\/Xcode\/iOS DeviceSupport<br \/>\n~\/Library\/Developer\/CoreSimulator<br \/>\n~\/Library\/Caches\/com.apple.dt.Xcode<br \/>\n~\/Library\/Application Support\/MobileSync\/Backup<br \/>\n<\/code><\/p>\n<p>Upon first start, Xcode will re-generate everything that&#8217;s necessary.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oftentimes we find ourselves in dire need of some extra disk space.
